Field Trip – Butterflies and Flora and Fauna of Martin Down NNR
This National Nature Reserve is a superb example of untouched chalk downland.
Corn Buntings are usually reliable here, and there will be plenty of Skylark and Whitethroat. If we are really lucky we may find a Turtle Dove. Silver Studded Blue, Adonis Blue and Green Hairstreak are all also possible and there may be some orchids to be seen.
Meet in the car park at the end of Silens Lane SU 058 192 – beware potholes, drive slowly!
This is a joint event with HOS and will be lead by Julian Moseley.
