Field Trip – Poole Harbour – Winter Birds

In the past we have seen Marsh and Hen Harriers, and on one celebrated occasion a Great Northern Diver only about 4 metres from the beach! No promises for the day though!
Parking should be available in Panorama Road (Sandbanks) – it used to be free but if the council have installed meters then payment will be needed for the day.
We will cross to the western side, walk across to Littlesea and then we sometimes use the hide for lunch if not too crowded. The return leg is across the northern shore which is known as Brands Bay.
We will then walk to the ferry to cross back to Panorama Road arriving at about 3:30pm

Meet Point: at the ticket office (10.15a.m.) at the eastern end of the chain ferry which traverses the entrance to the harbour. Tickets for foot passengers is about £1
