Field Trip – Hut Wood – Site Introduction and General Wildlife Walk
A mixed ancient woodland of 75 acres with some plantation once forming part of the Fleming Estate and North Stoneham Park. This is a privately owned site now
managed by the Forestry Commission. We hope to encounter young raptors, late flying butterflies and reptiles.
Led by Martin Smith who knows this fascinating site well and and has permission to access Hut Wood.
Please bring suitable footwear. It can be very muddy – walking boots or wellies please as there are no formal paths.
